Guess they had a pretty good chewing session....

"started this one this morning. all we had was Xxxxx pup and the bloodhound pup. the yote jumped up in front of them, and headed for the other end of a huge piece. he made 2 big circles and ran out of gas. jet was really pushing him hard. i think he tried to run to my brother for protection. he knocked him down just as the bloodhound pup saw him coming and just as jet got to him. guess they had a pretty good chewing session. the bloodhound might just be starting to get it. Xxx did a tremendous job all by himself for most of the run. not bad for 9 monthes old."

Put some lead in his rear leg...

"Was hunting today wth some friends of mine in the next town over. Had this coyote try to sneak behind my truck at about 40 yds., jumped out and gave him some rapid fire action with my .22 pistol and as luck would have it put some lead in his rear leg. Spiked a young dog on him and had it caught 1/4 mile later."
"You weren't bump firing were you? nice job hitting him anyway, with the bonus of letting the pup catch him. way to go"

Three Holes in Him and He Ran Forever!

Three Holes in Him and He Ran Forever!

"well we got him!! wow what a chase its been. we have run this yote several times. a big yote with an extra small track. this one knows all the tricks. we put down on him this morning, they jumped him in the ussual spot right away. he made his typical one circle then gone. over roads and through 3 huge blocks right to town. almost got to him there, when it was b-- line back to where we started 7 hours prior. this time we got the block surrounded. and sent 3 guys in. he ran step for step the same places he ran that morning. that was his mistake. Xxxx was waiting. he took both back legs out with a long running shot with his 10/22. the dogs were right there to finish it up. we all celebrated a little after it was over, this one has been a real thorn in our sides. he has made some good dogs look stupid. He had three holes in him and still ran forever!"

So I took off one hind leg, then took off the other hind leg

" Ran him for about another hour & he popped out on a creek flooding. The first shell didn't fire. He spotted me & headed back on a run. So I took off one hind leg with the 2nd shell. Then took off the other hind leg with the third shell. That pretty much sealed the deal. Had a couple real nice races. "

Coyote Pens and Trappers Help

Coyote Pens and Trappers Help

"I'm not saying it won't work, but I don't feel coyote scenting urine and real coyotes smell anything alike. There is no substitute for hard work and the real thing, coyote pens are great ways to get young dogs started, talk to some trappers and see if they can accuire you a live training aid. I've always said you get out of your hounds what you put in them, get them in the woods and on game as much and as often as you can. Good Huntin'"

Slowed down with a front leg shot

"We finally had some good runs today. The first yote was a runner and went three blocks before I dumped it trying to cross a busy road. The second yote ran into a thick chunk of forest and decided to just twist around. I slowed it down with a front leg shot and then the hound cought a killed it. Ice raining now so we will be back to bad conditions again. Xxxx"
